Everyone seems to have a bargain set lunch, but Aubergine's recession special is at the top of the list. Two courses B299++ or three courses for B349++. Other places sometimes match the price, but it is the quality that sets these lunches apart. Where else in town can you get an Aussie striploin with sauteed veggies and a great dessert for B299++? Checkout www.aubergine.in.th for directions on how to find this beautiful restaurant.
Do you like Indian food or are you interested in trying it? Rang Mahal, the sumptuous restaurant with a fabulous view on the 26th floor of the Rembrandt Hotel, has a vegetarian lunch thali - a platter with several dishes - for B375++. The non-vegetarian version is B395++. To make things even better during December they are offering two thali lunches for the price of one. Considering the quality of the food, the view and the ambiance, this is a great bargain.
This has got to be Bangkok's best Western-style breakfast bargain. Molly Malone's, the well-known Irish Pub on Convent Road near the Sala Daeng BTS station, features a B99 breakfast with two eggs, bacon, homemade hash browns, toast and a cup of coffee or tea from 10.00 until noon. Starting the day in style doesn't get any better than this.
All right, you can't eat a cocktail, but this is so good, I''m including this promo here. Robin Hood, the popular English-style pub on Sukhumvit road opposite the Emporium, features Gordon's Gin, Smirnoff Vodka or Johnnie Walker Red with a house mixer for only B65 a drink. Now you can perch on a barstool watch sports on the numerous TV's and enjoy a good cocktail without filing for bankruptcy. Hanrahans, a sister pub on Sukhumvit Soi 4 near naughty Nana Plaza, has a similarly priced deal at two cocktails for B125.
